[applause] >> at afternoon. it's always a pleasure to come back here. i say come back here because it's happened several times in the first time in 1993. i'm happy to still be out to get up out of that chair. when i was in high school, if we learned anything about the war of 1812, it was usually just three things. it was caused by impressment, the impressment of sailors are the british, whatever that meant i was never really clear and i've never heard the word connected with anything else. and that was one by henry jackson at the battle of new orleans. what really flummoxed me was that supposedly happened after the war was over. after the treaty was signed, that was never explained. it made no sense. in the recent bicentennial of the war of 1812, a lot of which took place in washington, it was still portrayed as the second american revolution. we were told there was still no winner, no loser. tempting really only important to the canadian
